Reasons to be worried..... Part 1

On isolating a 630 amp main switch in a main switch room, we discovered the switch wasn't disconnecting,  and therefore wouldn't allow the door to be opened. So we had to switch off the main ACB & bypass the lock lever to gain access. On finding the fuse carrier had arced itself together,  we decided to condem it and remove the fuses. The look on my colleagues face tells you how concerned we were to need nothing other than fingers to loosen off the bolts!

Renting & Common Sense with Electricity.

Are you a landlord? If so, you should have been advised to have an Electrical Installation Condition Report done for your own peace of mind. But if you think you are competent enough to do your own work but not actually qualified to, DEFINITELY GET IT CHECKED! This is just one of multiple errors found in a DIY landlords property,  which also included no RCD protection on the shower. A huge no no!
